Bucknell University is a primarily undergraduate institution (PUI) that prides itself in providing undergraduates with the opportunity to engage in real research. Lab members are almost all undergraduates at Bucknell* – some are Biology majors, others are majoring in Animal Behavior or Cell Biology/Biochemistry. Students work in labs on a volunteer basis, for class credit, or in some cases (such as Presidential Fellows or summer research students), they are paid research assistants.
